The king’s portrait will appear on all four polymer banknotes – £5, £10, £20 and £50 – and the rest of the notes’ design will remain the same.

His image appears on the front of the currency notes and on the security window.

However, Britons don’t have to worry about their polymer notes being invalidated by the late Queen Elizabeth II.

This is because the King Charles notes will only be in circulation until mid-2024.
