Carer’s Allowance May Affect State Pension Payments – Check Now | Personal Finance | Finance

If someone receives Pension Credit and they qualify for Carer’s Allowance, their payments will increase.

If they receive Pension Credit and their State Pension is more than £69.70 a week, they will not receive Carer’s Allowance, but instead their Pension Credit payments will increase.

If they delay claiming their State Pension, they can increase the amount of State Pension they receive when they decide to claim it.

When Carer’s Allowance is also claimed, along with other benefits such as Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) and Universal Credit, payments are reduced by the amount of Carer’s Allowance one receives.
