All our predictions for ‘House of the Dragon’ season two

Disclaimer: Major House of the Dragon spoilers ahead.

Dragon House (HOTD) had big shoes to fill. Its predecessor, game of thrones, watched and adored by millions. The eight-season show brought about a cultural shift, and some followed the books and series as closely as they followed a religion.

It’s no easy feat, but season one is HOTD It goes without saying that it has an engaging plot, well-rounded characters and, of course, it’s…dragons.

Season one is set approximately 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Stambourne and the death of her father, the Mad King, Aerys. HOTD It laid the groundwork for the rest of the series.

We’re introduced to two best friends, Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) and Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke), who become sworn enemies as they fight tooth and nail for the throne. The final episode left fans on a cliffhanger after Queen Rhaenyra’s beloved son Luke Valerion (Elliott Grihalt) was killed by his uncle and Alicent’s son Aamend Targaryen (Evan Mitchell).

It was a shocking conclusion to the 10-episode saga, during which viewers and the Targaryens discovered that they didn’t control the dragons, but rather, the dragons controlled them.

Unfortunately, season two will have to wait until 2024, but unlike that game of thronesAuthor George RR Martin ended the series Fire & Bloodwhat is this HOTD Based on So we can predict what will happen.

Here’s what we think will happen in season two HOTD.

The Starks are the main players

In season one HOTD, focused on three houses: the Targaryens, the Valyrians, and the Hightowers. But now that these families are on the brink of war, we assume more houses will be drawn into the conflict. The Starks were a big part game of thronesFire & Blood played a major role in the book, so we’re assuming they’ll make an appearance in season two.

Showrunner Ryan Kandel also previously said, “We will cast Creagan Stark at some point, but no other ideas.”

More dragons!

If we are leaving the books, we should not see the sowing of the seeds called red sowing in the next season. However, Daemon Targaryen’s (Matt Smith) actions in episode 10 suggest that season two will feature even more dragons. Dragonseeds are the bastard children of the Targaryens, and for the use of wild and unclaimed dragons, the Blacks offer rewards to any man or woman who masters a dragon. If our prediction is accurate, expect a violent scene (no surprise there).

This won’t be the last time we hear “an eye for an eye.”

Revenge will be a major theme in season two HOTD, Rhaenyra’s cold expression at the end of episode 10 destroys any hope that this is a fair fight. In the books, Daemon swore that the Greens would pay “a son with a son” after the death of Prince Luceris and his dragon Araxes. Although death is a regular occurrence on the show, Loserre’s death came with a back story. Prince Amand, who was directly responsible for the boy’s murder, sought revenge after losing his eye years ago, so we imagine the theme of getting back at each other will continue well into the season.
