Brit calms Lewis Hamilton astounding Max Verstappen comment Retirement speech | F1 | game

Lewis Hamilton Despite being denied an eighth world title last season in controversial fashion at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Max said beating Verstappen was not one of his main motivations for staying in F1. The Mercedes star insists he is not just in the game to beat Verstappen to another title.

In a note he plans to race into his 40s, Hamilton says he sees no reason to quit just yet. The seven-time champion said he was “healthier than ever” and accepted his interest in racing was “not going away”.

Asked in an interview with Channel 4 if beating Verstappen was his main motivation, Hamilton replied: “Less than you think. I think about where I am in life. I’ve got great things going on outside, I’ve got a lot of freedom to do things, I’m building things outside of the game with my foundation that I just started, and that takes a lot of work. “

He added: “I feel healthier than I’ve ever been because of what I eat and how I prepare myself, and I love racing. I’m five years old and it won’t go away, I’ve been doing it for as long as I can remember.

That would take Hamilton to the end of the 2028 season, where he would be 43, the same age as Michael Schumacher when he retired from the sport.

Wolfe said: “Lewis would be the first to say, ‘I can’t do this anymore because I feel like I don’t have the reactions.’

“So, even if we agree to a contract extension — and that’s going to happen — I have no doubt that both of us are always going to discuss, very openly, what’s going to happen in the future.”
