Deal spotlight: iRobot Roomba 692 Robot Vacuum

The 45+ Best Amazon Prime Day Deals 2022

The iRobot Roomba 692 robot vacuum
Contract price: $180; Street Price: $280

The iRobot Roomba 600 series is a longtime favorite among our reviewers. The Roomba 692 is no exception. It is Wi-Fi enabled and works with both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. The 600 series comes in a few variants, but if it’s a Roomba model starting at 6, they’re mostly the same, save for varying Wi-Fi capabilities and some aesthetic differences. At $180, this deal is a few dollars more than the lowest price we’ve seen and matches the best price we’ve seen this year.

Deal spotlight: KEF Mu3 Wireless Earbuds (Silver grey)

Deal spotlight: KEF Mu3 Wireless Earbuds (Silver grey)

KEF Mu3 Wireless Earbuds (Silver Grey)
Contract price: $130; Street price: $230

The KEF Mu3 is one of the best-sounding pairs of true wireless earbuds we’ve tested. While not an official pick, these earbuds boast excellent sound quality, clear highs, deep (but not overwhelming) bass notes, and a surprisingly large soundstage for small earbuds. Active noise cancellation is neutral and there’s no track-reverse option with the controls, but if those aren’t deal-breakers, these headphones are sure to please.

Deal spotlight: Google Nest Hub Max Smart Display

Google Nest Hub Max Smart Display
Contract Price: $170; Street price: $230

If you’re looking to try out a new smart display, we think home cooks already invested in the Google Assistant ecosystem will get the most out of the Nest Hub Max. With its large 10-inch screen, Nest easily transforms from a beautiful digital photo frame into your very own cookbook—verbally walking you through recipes so you never have to touch a thing with ingredient-stained hands. This is a great opportunity to pick up this versatile Google Smart Display at the lowest price we’ve seen.

Ring doorbell, Echo Show, Audible, and more

If you’re looking for deals on Amazon devices, you’ve come to the right place. We’ll be updating this section as well as our roundups of the best Amazon device deals. If you’re looking for the Ring Video Doorbell Wire, our budget pick for the best smart doorbell camera, we expect it to be available for under $50 during Prime Day.

Amazon Echo (4th Gen) Smart Speaker + Singlet Smart Bulb
Contract price: $60; Street price: $75

Matching the best price we’ve seen during Black Friday, this is a solid Prime exclusive deal for the 4th-gen Amazon Echo smart speaker, which comes with a single Bluetooth colored smart light bulb. With Alexa, Echo can play music, answer questions, control your smart-home devices, and buy things from Amazon—all with just a few words. The Echo is our pick for the best Alexa smart speaker, and while the single bulb isn’t an official pick, we’ve recommended some of their bulbs in the past. (Plus, it’s free!)

Amazon Echo Show 5 Smart Display (2nd Gen, 2021 Release)
Contract price: $35; Street price: $70

Part smart speaker and part tablet, the compact Amazon Echo Show 5 is a nice display for a nightstand or bathroom counter. Our small screen selection does everything the big Show 8 can do, including playing music, checking the weather report and triggering smart-home routines. It has an auto-dimming screen when you turn off the lights, so it shouldn’t keep you awake at night.

Amazon Echo Dot (4th Gen) Smart Speaker + Single Bluetooth Color Smart Bulb
Contract price: $20; Street price: $40

As a smaller version of our best Alexa smart speaker, the Echo Dot is a great choice for people who want a small smart speaker for the cheap. Our budget pick has an audio-out port and Bluetooth connectivity, so if you want better sound, you can connect the Dot to a Bluetooth speaker or larger audio system. This is a new low price for the Echo Dot, and even better value when you add the free singlet Bluetooth bulb. While we didn’t specifically test that Sengled bulb, it’s a simpler version of our previous budget pick and it’s free (usually $15).

Amazon Music Unlimited (Four Months Free)
Contract Price: $0; Street price: $32

Prime members who haven’t tried Amazon Music Unlimited can get four months free. Like its rival Apple Music, Amazon Music now offers HD Spatial Audio—an improvement in sound quality that makes your listening experience more pleasant. Other great features that come with an Amazon Music subscription include ad-free access to any song, unlimited skips, and hands-free listening with Alexa, which is already part of the Amazon smart-home ecosystem. The deal continues to grow at this time of year, but free is hard to beat, so this is a good opportunity to test out a new music streaming service. Note that after the free four-month subscription expires, you will automatically be charged $8.99 per month.

Audible Premium Subscription (3-Months)
Contract Price: $0; Street price: $45

If there’s a book lover in your life, or if you’re one yourself, this is a great opportunity to try Audible’s Premium Plus subscription. Normally $15/month, Amazon Prime members can get the first three months of this subscription free. With access to tons of audiobooks, podcasts, and original content, you’ll earn one credit each month toward the purchase of a select premium title. After the trial period ends, you’ll automatically be charged the regular monthly membership fee—so if you don’t want to continue with the service, cancel.

Amazon Echo Glow Night-Light
Contract price: $17; Street price: $28

Help your child sleep through the night with the Echo Glow, one of our smart night light picks. It doesn’t have any physical controls, but adjusting the brightness and 16 different color options is as easy as tapping the light or using the accompanying app or your Alexa device. We’ve seen great deals on this smart lighting device, but it’s also a great way to regulate your little one’s bedtime routine—an essential step in helping babies sleep better over time.

Echo Dot Kids Edition Smart Speaker (4th Generation)
Contract Price: $25; Street price: $50

Our Budget Alexa Speaker As the kids’ version of Erwin, the Echo Dot Kids Edition offers all the standard Echo Dot features at half the price—asking Alexa to play music, read stories, call friends and family, and more. Plus, it’s good enough to use as a nightstand speaker or a small kitchen speaker. At a new low price of $25 for Prime members, the Kids Edition comes with a solid two-year replacement warranty and is available in your choice of two cute, kid-friendly designs (tiger or panda fabric print).

Echo Show 8 Smart Display (2nd Gen, 2021 Release, Updated) with Delayed Shipping
Contract price: $70; Street price: $115

The Amazon Echo Show 8 (2nd generation) is easy to use with its excellent on-screen menus and Alexa’s always impressive conversational chops. Its speaker also produces clear audio and is powerful enough to fill a room. At the lowest price we’ve seen for a refurbished model, this is a solid chance to get the latest Show 8 for less. Available in both black and white.

Echo Dot Kids Edition + Echo Glow Bundle
Contract price: $36; Street price: $65

If you’re having a hard time getting your baby into a regular bedtime routine, one of our smart nightlight picks, Amazon’s Echo Dot Kids and Echo Glow Bundle, is back on sale. The Glow has a range of 16 colors and can signal a bedtime countdown controlled by another Amazon Echo device—in this case, Dot Kids, a kid-friendly version of the large pint-sized smart speaker available in tiger or panda print, is included.

Kindle Paperwhite deals

In recent weeks, we’ve seen a few deals on updated Kindle Paperwhites, but they’ve primarily been for the 2018 model. At this point, we recommend ditching older models and waiting for Prime Day sales on newer Paperwhites that support USB-C charging.

Wirecutter recommends the 2021 Paperwhite Kids Edition over the standard 2021 Paperwhite. The kids version has a case, a two-year warranty (versus the standard’s one year) and no ads, so our reasoning is that it’s worth it, and only $20. Based on the Black Friday prices and sales we’ve seen in 2022, we expect prices for the Kids Edition to be $100 or more during Prime Day, with prices around $90 for the standard Paperwhite.

Laptop, Chromebook, and accessory deals

Logitech HD Webcam C615
Contract price: $30; Street price: $34

In our new age of Zoom meetings and video conferencing, sometimes a subpar webcam on your laptop just won’t cut it. Our budget pick for the best webcam, the Logitech C615, is perfect if you’re looking for a sub-$50 option. While the overall video quality isn’t as good as our top pick, it still offers 1080p resolution and is better than other cameras we’ve tested at the same price point. With the best price we’ve seen this year, this deal will help ensure you’re not a pixelated blur when video chatting with others.

Western Digital My Passport SSD (1TB, Red)
Contract Price: $110; Street price: $130

Portable SSDs are ideal for people who regularly transfer files between computers and are looking for something fast and compact. With data transfers of up to 10 Gbps, our testers praised My Passport for incredibly fast speeds in a durable and pocketable package. WD also offers a lengthy five-year warranty on this device (the longest of any drive we found) in case you accidentally drop the drive and the shock-resistant design fails.

Headphone deals

Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700 (Updated)
Deal price: $223 with promo code SUMMER20SAVE; Street Price: $280

With code SUMMER20SAVE, Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700 is now down to $223. This pair is manufacturer refurbished from the Bose eBay storefront and comes with an extensive two-year warranty. While we’ve seen slightly better deals on updated options, this is a great chance to save if you’re looking for comfortable and lightweight headphones with excellent adjustable noise cancellation.

Kitchen deals

KitchenAid Pro 600 Series 6-Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer (Renewed)
Contract Price: $220; Street Price: $430

Our big picks are the stand mixer pick, the Pro 600 Series, which has a bigger bowl, stronger motor, and extra heft, but takes up more space and runs noisier than our top pick. It’s a workhorse stand mixer that’s so reliable it’s often found in professional kitchens. This refurbished model comes direct from the manufacturer and includes a 1-year warranty. While this resale deal isn’t the lowest we’ve seen, significant price drops for the KitchenAid Pro 600 series (new or refurbished) have been few and far between in recent years.

KitchenAid Metal Food Grinder Attachment
Contract Price: $76; Street price: $100

Unlock the full potential of your mixer with the KitchenAid Metal Food Grinder Attachment. If you already own our top stand-mixer pick, this easy-to-store grinder attachment lets you flex your creative muscles and take more control over the ingredients you put into your cooking endeavors. The attachment includes a food pusher, a food plate, two grinding plates and a few extra accessories, so you can handle anything from raw meats and vegetables to bread and hard cheeses. It’s not the lowest discount we’ve seen, but it’s still a solid deal for a versatile cooking accessory.

Kernel Popper Microwave Popcorn Maker
Contract Price: $12; Street price: $17

Looking for a low-effort way to make popcorn from kernels? Well, the kernel popper microwave popcorn maker is easy to use and easy to clean. Made of silicone, this dishwasher-safe bowl slides down to a height of two inches. Senior staff writer Rachel Cericola and senior editor Callie Thompson swear by this wirecutter option. For best results, hang out in your microwave and listen for the popping pops so you can remove your snack just in time.

Baby and kid product deals

Britax B-Lively Stroller (Dow)
Deal price: $143 at checkout; Street price: $250

The runner-up Britax B-Lively Stroller is comparable to our top pick in design, handling and maneuverability, and has a similarly easy-to-use recline. It has a large, accessible storage basket and a brake mechanism that requires minimal effort to engage. However, B-Lively is only compatible with Britax and BOB car seats. It doesn’t work with the popular Chicco Keyfit 30, our infant car seat selection, or other brands, so it might not be a good choice if you already have one of those car seats. Still, this $143 deal marks a new low for this stroller.
