Jimmy Saville detective lays new case against ‘very important’ man | UK | news

Former police detective Mark Williams-Thomas exposed Saville’s crimes, which saw 19 arrests and seven prison sentences following his investigation. Now, the same deduction A “very important” person has warned that a similar revelation awaits Crimes.

The former investigator’s revelations about the once-beloved TV personality shocked the world in 2012.

Her award-winning film The Other Side of Jimmy Savile told the story of five women.

Hundreds came forward a year after his death, meaning his victims never received justice.

Operation Yewtree was later launched by the Met Police, which saw 19 people, some high-profile, people arrested, seven of whom were sent to jail.

Gary Glitter, Rolf Harris, DJ Ray Derrett, Stuart Hall and Max Clifford were convicted of sexual assault offenses under Operation Utree.

But now, 10 years later, Mr Williams-Thomas has claimed another high-profile celebrity committed similar offences.

Speaking to Ai, he said, “There are still untouchables.

“There is a very important person who is clearly a child sex offender and I have done everything to prosecute.”

“To date, the CPS has not prosecuted. The police and I have tried very hard to get there.

“He’ll die in time and then the floodgates will open like they did with Savile. That’s not right. But justice takes many forms.

“The truth is that no broadcaster would have done a show about him when he was alive – we live in a society where there are some people you just can’t accept and that’s very sad.”

The tracker did not release any further details about who the “person of note” is.

But he hinted that the case could come to light if the victims waived their right to anonymity.

He explained: “I have seen the value of removing anonymity for victims to come forward. This is one of the reasons why the CPS did not have the evidence to prosecute Savile when he was alive.

“The media has an important role to play in coming forward by publishing the names of victims, but they must also consider the impact on the accused because there is no crime more hateful than child sexual abuse.”
