London stabbing: Two 16-year-old boys killed a mile apart in bloody night | UK | news

On Saturday night, two 16-year-old boys were stabbed to death within a mile of each other in south-east London. The attacks happened around 5pm local time on Titmus Avenue in Thamesmead with police officers and paramedics involved.

Meanwhile, emergency services were also called to a stabbing in Sewell Road, Abbey Wood.

Police were assisted by the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

Ward councilor Anthony Okereke tweeted about the incident: “Horrible news of two people being stabbed in our borough tonight.

“More and more of our youth are losing their lives to senseless violence.

“Something has to change. My heart goes out to all those affected.

The Met Police released a statement: “A homicide investigation is ongoing following two stabbing incidents in Greenwich this evening.

“At around 17:10 on Saturday, November 26, police were called to reports of injured people in Sewell Road, Abbey Wood and Titmus Avenue, Thamesmead.

“The locations are approximately one mile apart. Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

“At each location, they found a 16-year-old male with stab wounds.”

Section 60 is in force in the area till 8 am on Sunday.

The order allows the police more stop and search rights, meaning they can carry out stop and search procedures without suspicion.

Police have asked anyone with information to call 101 quoting 4943/26NOV.
